Job summary

A family in need of specialized support is seeking a compassionate assistant to provide one-to-one care for their lively 14-year-old son with ASD in Eastbourne, UK. This role requires engaging with him at home and in the community, assisting with personal grooming, and ensuring safety. Preferred candidates will have experience working with children with ASD and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. The position offers flexible hours, primarily 4hrs during term time and 8hrs in school holidays, with additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience working with children with ASD.
• Must be a non-smoker or willing to refrain during working hours.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support at home and in the community.
• Assist with personal grooming, toileting, and dressing.
• Ensure safety near roads and during activities.
• Support with eating and drinking assistance.
• Communication with the parents regarding care and activities.
