Job summary

A leading UK bus company in Stevenage is seeking a Shift Engineer to ensure the safety and reliability of its fleet. In this role, you will conduct inspections, respond to breakdowns, and support both planned and unplanned maintenance within the workshop. The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 in PSV or HGV Engineering, possess good mechanical skills, and be able to work independently to maintain vehicle standards. Qualifications

• Time served experience in PSV or HGV Engineering.
• Good understanding of safety procedures and diagnostic techniques.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle inspections to identify faults.
• Respond to on-road breakdowns and diagnose faults.
• Support planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Ensure work complies with safety and engineering standards.

Skills

Strong understanding of industry standards

Confidence working independently

Good mechanical skills

Ability to carry out manual handling tasks

Education

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in PSV or HGV Engineering
