Job summary

A leading healthcare institution in Salisbury is looking for a Specialist Medical Laboratory Assistant to work in the Laboratory Medicine department. This full-time role requires a friendly individual with a science background, excellent keyboard and communication skills. Job Summary

The Laboratory Medicine department has a vacancy for a Specialist Medical Laboratory Assistant in the Point of Care Section. We are looking for a friendly, upbeat person who is practical, has an interest in science, and is comfortable working with and training a variety of staffing groups across the hospital.

The role is based in Laboratory Medicine but involves visiting and supporting point‑of‑care services in clinical areas across the Trust. It is a full‑time position of 37.5 hours per week, although part‑time options may be considered.

Training will be provided; previous medical laboratory experience is desirable. Successful candidates will be literate, numerate and have excellent keyboard skills. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Main Duties

The post holder will work under direct and indirect supervision on wards and in departments that use POCT devices, learning and maintaining good laboratory practice to provide an efficient, safe service for users and ultimately patients.
