A leading environmental sciences institution in the UK is seeking a Lecturer to contribute to the School of Environmental Sciences. The successful candidate will focus on research in shelf sea oceanography and will develop international-quality research programmes. They will be responsible for supervising researchers, mentoring students, and teaching various courses in environmental sciences and data science. This full-time role starts from September 1, 2026, offering a great opportunity for those passionate about ocean science.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join the School of Environmental Sciences. The successful candidate will have research interests in shelf sea oceanography, including the physics of shelf seas and the shelf break, as well as estuarine and/or coastal oceans. You will join the Centre for Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences (COAS) within the School of Environmental Sciences.
You will be expected to develop international-calibre research programmes complementary to existing strengths in ocean science at UEA and be open to our growing research activities in coastal science. Research that exploits the ocean glider fleet owned and operated by UEA is encouraged. You will be expected to supervise and mentor postdoctoral and PhD researchers, contribute to undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching in environmental sciences and/or data science, and carry out associated administrative duties. This full-time post is available from 1 September 2026 on an indefinite basis.
