Job description
Retoucher (Maternity Cover)

Please only apply via the instructions below. Applications through LinkedIn will not be considered.

12-month full-time contract, with the potential to move into a permanent part-time role.

We are looking for a highly experienced retoucher with a strong background in e-commerce photography to join our creative studio team. You will play an important role in bringing our products to life and will require excellent quality control, a high standard of retouching, and strong communication skills. You will be confident in product photography, with experience in creative studio shoots and lighting considered a bonus.

Our studio is fast‑paced and collaborative. We work closely with our design and product teams from the early stages of development, which means things can change quickly as products evolve. Alongside our regular workflow, we also support other teams with ad‑hoc requests, clear communication, flexibility and a calm, organised approach are key.

You will work in a team of two and report to the Art Director. This is a full‑time maternity cover position and is not suitable for entry‑level candidates. You will be based in our Cheltenham studio and should be available to start as soon as possible to allow for a smooth handover with our current Photographer / Studio Traffic Manager.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working within a brand or studio environment in e-commerce photography
  • Excellent knowledge of Lightroom Classic and basic knowledge of Capture One
  • Strong proficiency in Photoshop CC (latest version)
  • Confident using Canon cameras and studio lighting equipment
  • Experience in creative studio shoots with good technical knowledge of lighting
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills — able to manage your own deadlines, prioritise projects and maintain an overview of the product pipeline
  • A team player who can also work independently and take ownership of their role
Responsibilities
  • Ensure all website images are correctly exposed, colour‑consistent and accurately matched to products
  • Ensure all deliverables are prepared in the correct formats for e-commerce and print
  • Work closely with the Studio Assistant to support all photography requirements
  • Retouch both product and lifestyle photography
  • Photograph e-commerce products, including cut‑outs and PDP detail shots
  • Organise, name and manage files accurately
  • Manage your own workload and schedule
  • Support ad‑hoc projects, including PR and other team requests
  • Communicate and attend meetings with Artwork, Product Design and Graphic Design teams
  • Collate and prepare products for shoots
  • Maintain good studio housekeeping, including keeping the studio, props and digital folders tidy

Salary dependant on experience.

Applicants must apply with a portfolio demonstrating both retouching and photography skills.
