Job description

Procurement and Contracts Advisor Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Procurement team at KMPT.

Our team plays a pivotal role within the organisation, enabling the Trust to effectively purchase and contract manage its goods, services, and works requirements in compliance with UK legislation, NHS guidance, internal policy and best practice.

Playing a key part in the delivery of an effective and professional procurement service, the Procurement and Contracts Advisor delivers on-going cost efficiencies and wider benefits by managing a programme of procurement processes, in addition to providing specialist advice on contractual and commercial related issues.

You will support the team in the delivery of savings, ensuring fit for purpose contracts are in place, and by having an awareness of the importance of building positive relationships and taking a commercial pragmatic approach.

The role will be hybrid working, which includes a mixture of working from home and being office based. Occasional visits to operational sites may be required.

You will lead and deliver a programme of procurement processes for the Trust which will include quotations, tenders (including above Threshold), and accessing framework agreements, ensuring value for money and excellent patient care is delivered.

You will be required to develop excellent working relationships with all clinical and corporate stakeholders and to ensure that the service provided to internal customers is professional, responsive and of a high standard.

You will deliver fit for purpose contracts that support the Trust's vision and values and deliver annual cashable savings along with wider efficiencies and social value benefits.

You will support the Trust and operational leads with effective contract management to ensure performance and on-going value is delivered throughout the contract term. This includes providing technical advice on contract terms and conditions, dealing with contract disputes, and negotiation with suppliers.

Come and work with us in the Garden of England where we combine exceptional professional development opportunities with a tremendous quality of life.

We are Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust (KMPT), providing mental health, learning disability and specialist services, serving 1.8 million people in Kent and Medway, as well as specialist services for adults in Sussex and Surrey. We are rated Good overall by the CQC.

We are proud to employ over 3,800 people from 66 nationalities, and to serve an increasingly diverse range of communities across rural and urban areas.

You will be joining friendly, passionate colleagues, rich in their diversity, who are committed to providing excellent care to our service users and their loved ones.

The nature of our work attracts kindness and compassion as standard and everyone from our cleaners and porters to the chief executive and chairman are recognised as playing a vital role in providing an exemplary service.

Our mission is what we set out to do every day: We deliver brilliant care through brilliant people.

Our vision is where we want to be in the future: To provide outstanding care and to work in partnership to deliver this in the right place, for every service user, every time.
