Qualifications

  • Experience in a pastoral, behaviour, or safeguarding role within a school setting.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by young people in secondary education.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a busy pastoral team.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting the wellbeing and personal development of students.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the behaviour, wellbeing, and attendance of students across the school.
  • Working 1-2-1 with students who require additional emotional or behavioural support.
  • Liaising with parents, carers, external agencies, and internal staff to ensure coordinated care.
  • Helping implement pastoral interventions, behaviour plans, and attendance strategies.
  • Supporting safeguarding processes and ensuring concerns are followed up correctly.
  • Contributing to whole-school behaviour and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Recording pastoral concerns accurately and maintaining organised case files.
  • Promoting a positive, respectful, and nurturing atmosphere for all students.

Skills

Strong communication and relationship-building skills
