Drainage Foreman

Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Drainage Foreman to join our Drainage team based out of our Bilsthorpe Depot.

What you’ll do:
  • Provide instructions and directions of works to staff under your supervision, ensuring tasks are delivered safely to a high‑quality standard, on time and to budget.
  • Undertake and over‑see drainage related tasks including initial investigation and problem identification and network repairs, using CCTV, high pressure jetting equipment and root cutters ensuring works are delivered.
  • Responsibility for all plant, equipment, vehicles and materials allocated to your team, ensuring their correct use, daily checks and avoiding any unnecessary damage.
  • Ensure own conduct, and those under your supervision, while undertaking tasks associated with works delivery, are at an acceptable level and enhance the reputation of the company.
  • Complete all paperwork and controlled documents including dynamic risk assessments, Site Inductions etc to support the Management with clear, concise instructions and work in line with company policies and procedures.
What we’re seeking:
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of running a team in the delivery of drainage works.
  • Cat B driving licence and Driver CPC (Cat C + E desirable).
  • Hold industry recognised qualifications; New Roads and Street Works Act, First Aid, High Pressure Jetting Association (desirable).
  • NVQ level 3 in highway maintenance, or equivalent experience in highway maintenance work.
  • Ability to handle a heavy workload and make decisions using own initiative in relation to problem solving and changing circumstances and prioritise work based on allocated tasks and resources available.
  • Advanced skills in highway drainage including drainage investigation and problem identification.
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures (working times, PPE, manual handling).
  • Understanding of drivers’ regulations, vehicle checks, tachographs, basic vehicle maintenance, loading and securing.
