Full Time (3 Years Fixed Term)

Hours

37.5 hours ( including shifts from 08:30 - 16:30 and 11:00 - 19:00).

For the right applicant, we would be willing to consider 30 hours over 4 days.

Willing to participate in On Call rota providing out of hours support approx. 1 week in every 8 – additional payment received for On Call.

Job Description

Sheffield Women’s Aid (SWA) is one of the leading domestic abuse charities in Sheffield. SWA believes that every woman and child has the right to live free from all forms of violence and abuse and has been supporting hundreds of women and children every year since 1974.

As a Domestic Abuse Refuge Practitioner, you will be part of the refuge support team, based within our refuges but working out in the community with women and families living within our dispersed accommodation helping them to begin to recover from the trauma and abuse they have experienced and move forward in a safe and planned way.

What we’re looking for

  • Confident to work independently in the local community travelling to meet with families in our dispersed accommodation.
  • Awareness of safeguarding procedures and processes (both children and adults).
  • Excellent communication and record keeping skills.
  • Ability to use ICT.
  • Willingness to take on further training within your role.
  • Confidence in working as part of a team and managing work load alone.
  • Excellent time and crisis management skills.
  • Willing to participate in an On-Call rota providing out of hours support (approx 1 week in every 8 - 10) - additional payment will be rec'd for on call duties.
