This senior role demands an expert in strategic sales, especially those with a proven track record in satellite communications or U.S. Government contracting, who can cultivate key partnerships and deliver substantial growth.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop new government business through a systematic approach of creating a sales plan with targeted customer groups and proactively executing that plan over the course of the year. Target revenue expectation within the first 12-months is a minimum of $1M in contracted deliverables.
  • Maintain existing customers with a view to achieving long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty and the goal of zero churn.
  • Grow business with existing customer base through regular contact and education. Leverage relationships through multiple approaches, from marketing via industry trade conferences and face-to-face meetings.
  • Promote the NIUSG and NI brand within strategic government entities outlined in the strategy map.
  • Either in a primary or supporting role (depending on the entity), advance the business of NIUSG and NI through the acquisition and development of relationships with key partners and suppliers.
  • Through competitive analysis, customer input, and market awareness, identify and recommend product and services opportunities to ensure differentiation and long-term customer relationships.
  • Deliver a succinct sales plan at the start of the year and review with management on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Maintain a balanced view of closing business in the current year with activities that fill the pipeline with opportunities that will close in subsequent year.
  • Develop multi-dimensional account plans in the most strategic accounts that include tasks for NI US GOV management to engage with the client’s management as well as NI US GOV technical resources with their technical customer counterparts so we have multiple points of entry into key customer organizations.
  • Deliver customer feedback to management on areas of potential improvement and quality.
  • All other duties as reasonably assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive Business Development and Sales experience, with deep expertise in satellite communications, U.S. Government contracting (highly preferred), military, or ISR.
  • Proven track record in government contracting business development or capture management, adept at applying structured capture methodologies (e.g., Shipley) for strategic opportunity pursuit.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead and manage business development initiatives, driving results through strategic thinking, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-centric approach.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with all levels of stakeholders, coupled with a highly adaptable, resilient, and resourceful nature for dynamic, deadline-driven environments.
  • Experience in cross-cultural sales and partnership development, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong aptitude for quickly grasping complex technical solutions.
  • Must be a US Citizen and have at a minimum a Secret clearance or be willing and able to obtain a security clearance.
