Strategic Resilience Group, LLC seeks a Director, Business Development to support corporate growth strategies across the company. This role will interface closely with Department of Defense customers, Fourth Estate, and state and local entities, to identify customer operational requirements and create business strategies that deliver advanced solutions meeting these needs. The selected candidate will lead Business Development and work closely with all levels of the company, ensuring each market is oriented for growth. The candidate will collaborate with programmatic and functional leaders to recognize, prioritize, develop, and capture new business opportunities.
This is a remote position with occasional in-person attendance at SRG’s Stafford, VA office for select activities.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboratively execute the company’s strategic growth plan.
- Translate customer needs into specific requirements and tailor company services and solutions into offerings.
- Identify, create, and validate program opportunities.
- Assess opportunities within and beyond existing markets, offerings, and business models.
- Develop and manage customer and partner relationships across multiple levels and functions.
- Maintain technical, operational, customer, and partner knowledge relevant to the company’s business areas, including Joint Venture initiatives.
- Manage communication channels to disseminate information regarding the assigned market to internal customers.
- Manage strategic partnerships with teaming partners.
- Conduct market and opportunity research, analysis, and business case development.
- Recommend strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement strategic and operational plans.
- Maintain broad knowledge of DoD agencies, Joint Staff, Military Departments, and the Defense Systems Sector portfolio.
- Develop and oversee the execution of capture plans and Business Development processes.
- Meet with potential government customers and contracting officers.
- Develop and oversee plans to enter untapped markets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 8+ years.
- Knowledge of and experience with DoD requirements, budget, and acquisition processes.
- Experience working with OSD, Joint Staff, Military Departments, and civilian agency leaders.
- Excellent critical thinking, organization, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to set priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Self-motivated with a desire to push the company forward.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance.
- Effective communication skills for informing, presenting, negotiating, and problem-solving with stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering solutions leading to new business growth.
- Experience with USG international sales and international customers.
- Ability to think across DOTMLPF spectrum to develop innovative solutions.
- Ability to build trust with executive customers and internal leadership.
