Overview: Boots UK Performance Media are an award-winning in‑house team responsible for driving omni‑channel growth for our Retail business through best‑in‑class online advertising strategy and activation. We’ve built one of the UK’s most successful, innovative brand‑side teams through bringing together industry leading talent with the very best tech & AI solutions.

As our Digital Media Manager, you will own the acquisition layer for our Performance Paid Social, Display & Video activity – driving revenue growth through combining both long‑term channel evolution and short‑term optimisation. This role is a key part of our Performance Media leadership team and will lead a team of three as well as resource at our external digital agency. We’re looking for strong leadership capability, great communication and channel knowledge but above all, someone who truly values the people they lead.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You’ll lead a team of three (2 x Specialists and 1 x Executive), ensuring a strong commitment to talent development, nurturing a high performing culture and managing priorities effectively.
  • Develop a blueprint for Digital Media in‑housings, as part of the next phase of our in‑housings journey.
  • Manage an agency team of digital marketers, working collaboratively with your extended team to drive growth, channel advancement and excellence.
  • Working with our senior Marketing stakeholders and our Planning Manager, act as the managerial bridge between our in‑house creative agency, the marketing department and media activation.
  • Ownership of the Digital Media Strategy for Performance, defining and driving the Paid Social, Display & Video strategy for 2026 to take us into the future.
  • Drive daily/weekly/monthly performance by ensuring our strongest promotions reach the customer at the right time in the buying journey.
  • Take ownership of our annual Digital Media budget, with strong financial accuracy in reporting, budget setting and financial processing – with regular optimisation to drive increased performance.
  • Working in collaboration with our Media Analyst, clearly define a measurement roadmap to build out our understanding of channel incrementality and omni‑effectiveness.
  • Ensure strong communication and collaboration between our platform partners Meta, TikTok, Smartly; The Agency, Jellyfish, our in‑house team and our Marketing counterparts.
What you’ll need to have:
  • A background in Paid Social and/or Display & Video media, with hands on experience driving Performance based advertising ideal.
  • An understanding of demand generation vs demand harvesting strategies, full‑funnel advertising and the role that Performance plays within the funnel.
  • A strong commitment to nurturing and developing great talent to achieve their best, whilst developing a positive, high‑performing culture within your team.
  • A high-performance managerial mindset, understanding how we can go-one-more to beat the competition, learn and scale fast.
  • Scientific approach to testing, with a real curiosity for digital marketing and the future direction of the industry.
