About the Role

We are seeking an experienced digital professional to lead the development of digital solutions enabling Care for the Carers to provide support to more carers across East Sussex. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic thinker and hands‑on doer to drive transformational change. You will implement online support options for carers while streamlining our internal administrative processes, demonstrating tangible impact throughout. You will develop and deliver our Digital Strategy, champion a digital‑first culture, and ensure smooth transition of digital projects into business‑as‑usual operations. We particularly welcome applications from unpaid carers or those with lived experience of caring, although this is not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Care for the Carers’ Digital Strategy to build capacity and deliver increased accessibility to our services, particularly for digital natives and working carers.
  • Identify opportunities for digital solutions enabling growth, including exploring the potential for AI to maximise our capacity to support carers.
  • Lead implementation of the Digital Strategy, completing an audit of IT and digital platforms and overseeing implementation of digital applications.
  • Work alongside system partners to implement a digital carers’ pathway, ensuring alignment of digital ambitions.
  • Design and deliver training to develop colleagues’ digital skills and confidence, championing a digital‑first culture.
  • Project‑manage delivery of the digital strategy, leading execution of multiple digital improvements within budget.
  • Gather user insights to inform data‑driven decision‑making and identify analytics tools to monitor digital performance.
  • Put in place mechanisms for digital leadership and project management to continue beyond the lifespan of this post.
Essential Requirements
  • QCF Level 6 qualification (degree) in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related area.
  • Significant proven track record (3+ years) of delivering successful digital projects within time‑scales and budget.
  • Significant experience (3+ years) of managing complex and far‑reaching digital change.
  • Experience of implementing online self‑serve support services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders and foster collaboration.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, confident in gathering data to drive decision‑making and measure impact.
  • Strong project‑management skills, with experience implementing multiple complex improvements.
  • Ability to explain complex technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, anticipate needs, solve problems and take initiative.
  • Commitment to providing a high standard of service and to the vision and mission of Care for the Carers.
