About the Role

We are recruiting for a Cratewash / Despatch operative to join our team in Hereford.

As a Cratewash operative you will be responsible for achieving hygiene standards in your area, helping the team to meet the high standard of hygiene required for Avara Foods.

Working Hours

0700-1900/1900-0700 - 3 on 2 off / Days & Nights

Benefit

£12.65 per hour plus shift allowance £1.23

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • To fully understand and comply with all department and company policies and guidelines
  • To meet housekeeping and hygiene standards individually and as part of a team
  • Compliance with food safety and HSE guidelines
  • Supporting Cratewash duties and site improvements
  • Complete all relevant paperwork to ensure traceability in the event of a process problem/issue.
  • Ensure stock is correctly rotated.
  • Complete schedule to supply crates and pallets
  • Co‑operate in the continuous improvement of quality, safety and productivity standards.
  • Handling/lifting of crates averaging 18kg

A little about our Hereford site

The Hereford plant is our largest site and processes chicken products across two factory facilities, Grandstand Road and Yazor Road. Grandstand handles processing, whole bird production and portioning, with Yazor responsible for portioning and added value. Across the whole site approximately 1,500 people are employed and it processes 1.9m birds per week.
