Location: Nr Ashford, Kent

We are looking for a creative and technically skilled Design Engineer / Estimator to join a team developing high‑quality, bespoke products. This role blends product design with commercial estimating.

Responsibilities
  • Lead concept and detail design for new products, elevating them from equipment to furniture through considered form, materials and finishes.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of materials and quotes for bespoke and custom projects.
  • Collaborate with sales, project management, production and suppliers to ensure designs are feasible, cost‑effective and meet client requirements.
  • Specify materials, finishes and fixtures with attention to aesthetics, durability and cost.
  • Maintain design documentation, change control and costing records to support project delivery and profitability.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience in product design or as a Design Engineer.
  • Strong CAD skills with the ability to produce detailed drawings and 3D models.
  • Good understanding of materials, joinery/fabrication techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving skills and the ability to balance aesthetics with manufacturability and cost.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working directly with clients, suppliers and production teams.
