Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the sales and engineering team to create and document high quality designs and set the delivery and support teams up for success.
• Be an expert on conference technology and solutions and make recommendations to clients and peers based on that expertise.
• Work independently and build trusted working relationships with account managers and customers.
• Regularly communicate answers to complex questions and respond to detailed inquiries, providing suitable technical and commercially viable solutions.
• Protect all internal and external confidential information and utilize discretion and judgment based on company policies and procedures.
• Develop and conform to company technical standards and practices; interpret multiple formats of technical specifications, schematic drawings and architectural diagrams.
• Adhere to global processes and contribute to continual improvement and efficiency.
• Document customer design based on client requirements and job site conditions; develop system design drawings and associated BOM/SOW documentation.
• Develop accurate job cost estimates and provide technical responses to customer RFP/RFQ/RFI.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants and staff throughout the design development and delivery process.
• Ensure successful completion of assignments on time and within budget.

Required Skills/Abilities

• High levels of professionalism and integrity; ability to coordinate, manage and support multiple requests, tasks, and clients with prioritization of workload.
• Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills; excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to present technical solutions to executive-level audiences at partner and client organizations.

Education And Experience

• Proficient in the use of computers and MS Office (Outlook, Project, Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of video and audio-conferencing service standards, products and applications.
• Demonstrated or potential proficiency in AutoCAD, Visio, or similar diagrammatic tools.
• Willingness to pursue and attend additional training related to performance of the job.
• Poly/Cisco/Microsoft/Zoom/Crestron/Extron/Biamp certification desirable.
• InfoComm CTS certification with Advanced CTS-D certification desirable.

Physical Requirements

• Requires extensive sitting, standing and walking.
• Travel across Europe may be required; estimated 1–2 days per month on average.
• Valid UK driver’s license.
• Background check and/or drug test may be required where permitted by law or contracts.
• Willingness to apply for security clearances if required.
