Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a dynamic and inspiring Nurse who is looking to develop in a Leadership role within Specialty Medicine.
This post will be based on Harrowden C ward which is a 27 bedded acute respiratory ward.
In this role you will provide clinical leadership to the nursing team, working closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for patient flow on the ward. An understanding of respiratory medicine and treatments would be advantageous.
This role would suit a senior band 5 with 3 or more years of experience as a co-ordinator who is looking for career progression and a new challenge and can demonstrate some experience with ward management. There is an expectation to perform various initiatives and participating in teaching, audits and staff appraisals.
You should be able to demonstrate a good range of experience evidence that you have skills in the coordination of care, typically through Nurse in Charge or Shift Leader Competencies.

Alongside an internal leadership development program we also link with local Universities and the East Midlands and NHS Leadership Academy. We actively encourage continual professional development and the implementation of new ideas which promote excellent patient care. Alongside leadership development we also have access to a vast range of clinical development modules related to the specialty.
To work proactively to support the Ward Sister in the delivery of high quality care and a positive patient experience of patients. Primarily this will be through effective role modelling of professional behaviours and the deployment of practice development and educational
methodologies. This is to reassure that all staff are developed and supported to be competent and confident in roles and to in‑still professional behaviours at all times.
The role of the nurse/midwife is to provide a holistic, high quality, patient focused, comprehensive, efficient and safe service for the patients cared for at Kettering General Hospital, acting with responsibility, accountability and integrity; reporting adverse events
and poor practice to the person in charge. The nurse/midwife would be expected to effectively and responsibly use resources and engage in change and service improvements. Standards of practice at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KGH) are aligned to the standards set out by the Nursing & Midwifery (NMC) Code:

If you need to have a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, as a requirement of the role, you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check (£49.50) and this amount will be reclaimed from your first salary. From 1st February 2019 all new starters to the Trust are required to join the DBS update service as per Trust DBS Re‑checking Policy which has an annual cost of £16. New employees who do not join the update service will be required to pay £49.50 for a new DBS check in 3 years time.
Please note that news starters with KGH are subject to a six month probationary period.
