Job summary

A children's residential care organization in Burnley is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to lead a team in delivering high-quality care to young people. The role requires a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care and at least 2 years' relevant experience, coupled with exceptional communication skills. Qualifications

Job Role: Deputy Manager (Ofsted Children's Home)

Location: Bunrley

Salary: £39,000

Service: Children’s Residential Care Home

Service Users: Young People age 6 to 17, Emotional Behaviour Disorder

Home Size: 3 Young People is Max occupancy

Reporting To: Registered Manager

Contract Type: Permanent / Full-Time

On Shift: There are two Deputy Manager roles one is on shift (2 on 4 off (10 to 11 Sleeps per month)) and one is Monday to Friday

Qualification Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care

Min Experience Required: at least 2 years’ experience relevant to residential care in the last 5 years

The main duties of this role include
  • To lead the team to deliver high‑quality care to our young people
  • To ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
  • To communicate effectively with the team regarding the plans for the day
  • To review the young people’s care plans and other associated documentation
  • To undertake an in‑depth quality and bespoke training package
  • To attend/chair staff meetings and be proactive in developing and improving the service model
Job Requirements
  • To provide positive parenting
  • To have exceptional communication skills
  • To have sound working knowledge of current legislation e.g., Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards)
Essential Requirements
  • Must have a full manual driving licence
  • Must be fully flexible and have the ability to work unsociable shift patterns
  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • The desire to develop into a Registered Children’s Home Manager
