Maritime Academy are seeking a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead with the safeguarding of our students. You will play a major role in initiatives and projects that may arise, which can help to improve outcomes for vulnerable children.
Our DDSL will support the DSL in reviewing Risk Assessments on a termly basis and will also support with the tracking and monitoring children who are engaging in alternative provision off‑site. You will also be required to attend a Child Protection Course, and other training such as in Child Sexual Exploitation, Drugs and Alcohol and E‑safety.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children, young people and families, dealing with barriers to education, together with a knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures, child protection issues and of statutory legislation, guidelines and policies on attendance. Working knowledge of school procedures would be desirable.
