Job Description

Teledyne Energetics UK, part of the wider Teledyne UK group, has been designing and developing solutions for the safety, arming, and initiation technology sector since 1984. We are a small, friendly team based in Lincoln with ambitious plans for growth and expansion.

What We Are Looking For

As the Demand Planning Manager, you will forecast product demand to optimise inventory, production, and supply‑chain efficiency. You will lead a developing team, managing MRP purchasing, production orders, logistics, material kitting, and revenue forecasting. Your work will collaborate with other teams to ensure product availability, meet customer commitments, and improve factory on‑time delivery.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Lead SIOP to drive alignment across all functions and deliver on customer‑first promise dates.
  • Work with sales to provide forecasts for factory capacity planning, production efficiencies, and bottleneck identification.
  • Analyse forecast trends, customer behaviour, and supplier performance to refine planning strategies.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy, identify root causes for deviations, and drive corrective actions to improve delivery performance.
  • Develop an effective supply‑chain function to address MRP buying, receipt and control of stock, sub‑assembly planning, kitting, production order management, and allocation/backflushing of finished product.
  • Collaborate with document control and quality assurance to align supply‑chain systems and processes.
  • Help manage cashflow by optimising logistics and triggering invoicing.
  • Develop and manage the overall demand plan for on‑time delivery across multiple product lines or a major business segment.
  • Build and develop a strong supply‑chain team, overseeing day‑to‑day activities and professional development.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams—sales, marketing, procurement, manufacturing, and engineering—to gather input and validate forecasts.
  • Act as a key liaison between customer‑facing functions and the site delivery team.
  • Optimise management of customer‑owned stock and manage demand risks.
  • Improve factory profitability by aligning operations with future demand.
  • Provide reports on demand performance and supply‑chain metrics.
  • Use SAP ERP and other planning systems and analytical tools, identifying process improvements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience in demand planning in a niche electronic manufacturing environment, with familiarity of establishing a new planning function in an SME.
  • Proficiency in forecasting, SAP ERP, data analysis, Microsoft Excel, and Teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem‑solving, decision‑making, leadership, and strategic thinking.
Teledyne UK Company Benefits
  • Salary‑sacrifice pension plan matching up to 7% of employee contributions.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Free life assurance cover at four times basic annual salary.
  • 25 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays.
  • Holiday purchase scheme allowing an extra week’s leave each year.
  • Internal reward and recognition scheme via an internal benefits platform.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Comprehensive wellbeing programme covering physical, mental, financial, and cultural/environmental health.
  • Competitive employee discounts platform with leading brands and retailers.
  • Cycle‑to‑Work scheme.
  • Enhanced family‑friendly benefits and policies.
  • Company sick pay.
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Committee supporting and championing employee diversity.
