Data Science Manager

About the Team

At Deliveroo, we have an outstanding data science organisation with a mission to enable high-quality human and machine decision-making. Our team works across product, business, and platform teams using analysis, experimentation, causal inference, and machine learning techniques. We leverage data to support better decisions and enhance data literacy throughout Deliveroo.

Our data scientists build analytical tools, inform decision-making at all levels, run experiments, perform causal analysis, develop impact estimates, build production machine learning and optimization models, and promote data literacy and data-driven decision-making across the company.

Data scientists report to our data science management team. We foster a strong community with guest lecturers, a technical review process, career progression pathways for managers and individual contributors, and opportunities for continuous learning. Our team members come from diverse backgrounds, many with formal data science training, many without.

About the Role

We seek a data science manager to join our management team. The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience managing data scientists and guiding their career development.
• Possess hands-on experience as a senior individual contributor, familiar with experimentation, causal analysis, and data visualization methods.
• Identify opportunities where data science can add value, and translate insights into strategy and execution.
• Be comfortable working with stakeholders up to C-level, guiding company strategy, and explaining technical solutions clearly.
• Ability to lead a diverse, high-performing team, manage multiple teams across business areas, and prioritize effectively.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with high standards.
• Have a pragmatic, flexible approach focused on achieving impact.
