RPS is seeking a Data Logger Operative (Maintenance) for our South East Water contract to take noise samples on the water network. Opportunities are available in Basingstoke, Kent and Sussex. About The Team

The RPS Asset, Surveying, and Inspection (AS&I) team provides industry‑leading services to the UK Water Industry. The team analyses complex data and provides pragmatic solutions, reducing water leakage and preventing flooding and pollution in local communities.

About You

As a key member of the AS&I business, your role as Data Logger Operative (Maintenance) is critical to our strategic priorities – delivering great work for our clients by providing excellent customer service and executing complex operational tasks.

You will need to work flexibly, including weekends, evenings and overtime if required. Be willing to travel to different locations and enjoy working outdoors, rain or shine.

Your Responsibilities

Your skills keep infrastructure running. We’re delivering critical projects that renew and protect the UK’s essential services, offering growth in a respectful environment.

  • Daily deployment of pressure logging ‘Lift and Shift’ equipment throughout our water network
  • Installing and maintaining pressure loggers on the water networks (AZP/CPP)
  • Downloading/uploading data from logging equipment
  • Reading water network plans and schematics
  • Identifying water network fittings for deployment
  • Potential requirement for out-of-hours (night/early start) work
  • Co‑ordination of weekly activities with Line Managers
  • Completion of job forms, timesheets, and other required information
  • Ensuring Safe Working Methods are applied (SSOW)
Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
  • Pressure logger knowledge is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Experience with lone working.
  • Excellent communication skills for positive customer interactions.
  • PC literacy, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Health and safety knowledge and capability to operate equipment and tools within an operational environment.

  • Moving heavy items including inspection chamber covers.
