Job description

Our client is a well respected name in the UK asset finance sector.

They are looking to appoint an experienced credit analyst who will be responsible for assessing new credit applications for a range of hard assets to include manufacturing, construction, recycling and agricultural equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Underwrite business propositions and undertake credit assessments, ensuring company credit risk standards, procedures and authorities are met, that broader transaction risks are identified, evaluated and mitigated
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of typical product types – e.g., Regulated and non-regulated Hire Purchase, Finance and Operating Lease, Stocking facilities, etc.
  • Assess asset values and depreciation, with an awareness of market appetites and with reference to 3rd party valuers, internet comparisons, known sector guides – e.g., CAP – auction sites, dealers, and their own and others’ personal knowledge and experience.
  • Verify broader group credit limits as appropriate and thereby ensuring correct use of mandated authority.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and positive approach to supporting the Sales, Operations and Collections functions.
  • Ensure credit queues are well managed and SLAs and KPIs met.
  • Undertake site/customer visits, as required, along with trade shows, to ensure awareness of ongoing trends and developments within the various sectors the role supports.

We are looking for experienced credit underwriters, ideally from a hard asset finance background, and ideally with experience of manual underwriting, rather than scorecard assessment.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and highly successful team.
