Job description

Watershed is a solicitors' practice with commercially minded employment lawyers and human resources professionals. Based in Manchester, but with national clients, it is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Watershed is looking for a Corporate/Commercial Lawyer with experience of:

  • Advising on a full range of commercial contracts
  • Drafting and negotiating agreements, including technology and outsourcing matters
  • Providing advice on intellectual property, data protection and related issues
  • Advising on acquisitions, disposals and private company transactions
  • Supporting on corporate reorganisations and restructures
  • Drafting shareholder and investment documentation
  • Handling commercial disputes, including shareholder, insolvency and debt recovery matters
  • Assisting with joint ventures, governance matters and general corporate advice
  • Contributing to client management and matter organisation
  • Drafting pleadings and preparing files for hearings
  • Attending court where required and negotiating settlements
  • Maintaining clear, structured legal advice and effective client communication
  • Managing a varied caseload
About you
  • 5 years' PQE with corporate experience
  • The ability to manage the workload independently and collaboratively
  • A structured and practical approach to problem‑solving
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills
  • A solid grounding in mergers and acquisitions and corporate advisory work
  • Strong technical accuracy, organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work well within a busy and collaborative team
  • Strong written advocacy and case management skills
  • Confidence working with clients and external stakeholders
