The Contract Manager will oversee all aspects of contract operations across multiple sites ensuring high‑quality service delivery and compliance with regulations.
Position Details

Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain effective customer relations with all key personnel.
- Develop and maintain KPIs relevant to performance of the OPD process.
- Ensure sites are adequately staffed to meet contract requirements and supervise unit staff.
- Verify supplier staff competence and manage all planned and unplanned duties.
- Ensure contract and subcontract staff comply with all policies, Acts, regulations, and code of practice.
- Administer site health and safety procedures for linen service covered by the contract.
- Produce risk assessments carried out by the supplier and monitor performance standards.
- Compile and report contract KPIs, handle defect reports and take corrective action.
- Maintain statutory documentation and produce reports to authorised officers.
- Coordinate with the head of facilities for regular walk‑around reviews of linen services.
- Review, agree and audit processes and manage audit escalations.
- Maintain management continuity and appoint a deputy contract manager.
- Provide 7‑day per week management presence across all sites (Hemel Hempstead, St Albans, Watford).
- Supervise and monitor staff performance, time‑keeping and cover for annual leave & sickness.
- Conduct first‑line return‑to‑work interviews and annual staff appraisals.
- Lead induction training for new staff and support ongoing training.
- Check linen supply quantities and coordinate with the servicing factory.
- Ensure delivery schedules, communication, and health & safety regulations adherence.
Qualifications & Skills
- Extensive knowledge of the company’s procedures and methods of working.
- Experience working in the NHS environment.
- Good working knowledge of IT systems.
- Excellent communication skills with NHS and ELIS stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation and commercial management skills.
