Contract Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive breakdown repairs on injection and blow moulding machinery
- Deliver preventative maintenance, inspections, and service routines to minimise downtime
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults quickly and accurately
- Support tooling changes, machine setups, and optimisation to improve cycle times and reduce scrap
- Maintain and update maintenance logs, engineering records, and compliance documentation
- Work closely with production teams to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment
- Assist with continuous improvement projects, process upgrades, and reliability initiatives
- Adhere to health & safety standards, ensuring best practice and compliance at all times.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in the injection and/or blow moulding industry
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering (multi-skilled essential).
- Familiarity with robotics, extrusion, pneumatics, hydraulics, servo systems, PLC fault-finding, and ancillary equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Competent with root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving in fast‑paced environments
- Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, electrical/mechanical certification)
- Self‑motivated, safety‑conscious, and able to work independently on a contract basis
