A leading NHS foundation trust located in Liverpool is looking for a Locum Consultant in Paediatric Neurophysiology. The successful candidate will perform EEG reporting, run an EMG clinic, and contribute to Video Telemetry. This role is for 10 PA's over a fixed-term of 12 months, with opportunities for flexible working. To qualify, candidates must be registered with the GMC and on the specialist register for Clinical Neurophysiology. A competitive benefits package is included.

Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care and has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients’ homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man. The Trust also provides inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Sunflower House building newly relocated, and opened on the hospital site.
We currently have more than 4,000 staff working across our community and hospital sites. We’re also a teaching and training hospital providing education and training to around 540 medical and over 500 nursing and allied health professional students each year.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of specialist health care to over 275,000 children and young people each year. In addition to the hospital site located in the West Derby area of Liverpool, Alder Hey has a presence in community outreach sites and, in collaboration with other providers, our clinicians help deliver care closer to patients’ homes by holding local clinics at locations from Cumbria to Shropshire, in Wales and the Isle of Man.
We currently have more than 4,000 staff working across our community and hospital sites. We’re also a teaching and training hospital providing education and training to around 540 medical and over 500 nursing and allied health professional students each year.
The Paediatric Neurology service sits within the division of medicine and provides secondary and tertiary care for children with neurological conditions throughout Liverpool, Cheshire and the wider Northwest of England and North Wales regions. It is a large busy service serving a population of 8 million. This includes services for complex epilepsy including evaluation by epilepsy surgery (CESS), neuromuscular, neuroinflammation and demyelination services along with movement disorder and neuro rehabilitation.
EEG reporting including acute work on children of all ages including neonates
Video Telemetry (both ward and home recordings) including work up for epilepsy surgery (NorCess)
sEEG monitoring / IOM for those applicants who already have experience
EMG clinic; (currently one clinic per fortnight with ad hoc inpatient EMG)
