Job summary

A leading mental health trust in Tees Valley is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for a low secure female learning disability ward at Roseberry Park Hospital. This role involves attending multidisciplinary team meetings, managing clinical complexities and writing statutory reports. The candidate must have strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and be registered with the GMC. Qualifications

  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Old Age Psychiatry.
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly MDT meetings and manage the ward's clinical needs.
  • Write statutory reports and attend tribunals as Responsible Clinician.
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and support staff.

Skills

Excellent knowledge in specialty
Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
Makes decisions based on evidence and experience
Wide range of specialist experience relevant to post

Education

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
Qualification in medical education or clinical research
