Job summary

The role involves assisting Senior Managers with planning and organizing construction activities, maintaining project records, and overseeing sites to ensure safety and quality. Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old due to working directives.
  • Lives in Norwich and has access to transport.
  • Willing to obtain a CSCS card.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Managers in planning and coordinating construction activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities.
  • Participate in project review meetings.

What will the apprentice be doing on site

We have an opportunity for a well organised individual to take their first steps towards a career in Construction Site Management with a specialist interior and exterior walling systems contractor. The project comprises a multi-phase refurbishment of the iconic and Grade II listed 'Lasdun Wall' buildings at the University of East Anglia (UEA).

What you would be learning & getting involved with
  • Assisting Senior Managers – Support Project & Site Managers in planning, organising and coordinating construction activities.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Learn to maintain accurate records of the project activities such as daily diaries, progress updates & documentation of any incidents or changes.
  • Project Planning – Participate in project review meetings to understand project requirements & timelines.
  • Site Supervision – Learn to oversee construction sites, ensuring adherence to our safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Progress Monitoring – Monitor the progress of construction activities, identifying potential delays or issues, and implementing corrective measures when necessary.
  • Quality Control – taking photos of completed works and uploading onto BIM.
  • Communication – Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.

The working hours would be 08:00 – 16:30 with a 1-hour unpaid break.

The hourly rate would be £7.55.

Are there restrictions
  • Lives in Norwich.
  • Has their own transport or is able to reliably get to site by public transport.
  • Have a CSCS card or willing to get one.

Due to working directives and number of hours on site, applications can only be considered from applicants aged 18+.
