Job summary

A leading construction company is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the successful delivery of water projects in East Hyde, Bedfordshire. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with safety standards and managing project schedules and budgets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in major projects and a strong background in health and safety regulations. A Full UK Driving Licence is required. We're looking for a Construction Manager to join our Natural Resources team based on site at East Hyde STW, Bedfordshire on behalf of Thames Water.

Location: East Hyde STW, Bedfordshire

Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities

As Construction Manager you'll work alongside a ProjectManager in overseeing the successful delivery through all project stages - from design to handover- across multiple integrated schemes involving the installation and upgrading of treatment and distribution assets.

  • Leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams (including civil, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation disciplines) to ensure successful project delivery from design through construction to handover.
  • Overseeing all site construction activities and ensuring compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards, promoting a culture of safety.
  • Managing project schedules and budgets, monitoring progress and costs to ensure on-time delivery within financial targets and proactively identifying opportunities for efficiency or improvement.
  • Collaborating closely with Thames Water, supply chain partners, and regulatory stakeholders, serving as the key liaison to maintain strong client relationships and to ensure stakeholder expectations and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Driving collaborative planning and problem-solving across the framework, working with other managers and partners to share resources, address risks, and foster a one-team ethos focused on delivery excellence.
What are we looking for?
  • Have extensive experience in the Major Projects (Non Infrastructure) or water and/or wastewater utilities sector, with a strong understanding of treatment processes and associated mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Deep knowledge of health, safety, and environmental best practices (including familiarity with DSEAR regulations) and a commitment to leading by example to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills, demonstrated by a track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects and effectively managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
