Position Summary: This is a full-time Construction Engineer position within our Construction Services Group, located in various offices including Saginaw, St. Johns, East Lansing, Dundee, Manistee, Byron Center, Traverse City, Standish, and Bingham Farms.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison among clients, contractors, and project managers for municipal and MDOT infrastructure projects.
  • Observe construction to ensure compliance with specifications, inspect workmanship, and maintain detailed records.
  • Communicate with clients and owners, attend meetings, review shop drawings, perform quantity take-offs, and prepare cost estimates.
  • Review payrolls, compliance documentation, and generate pay estimates and contract modifications.
  • Familiarity with MDOT specifications and standards is preferred.
  • Conduct material testing for grout, HMA, concrete, aggregates, and perform compaction testing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • E.I.T. or P.E. certification is a plus.
  • Experience in construction inspection, especially in municipal infrastructure and MDOT projects.
  • Valid driver’s license.
