Role Overview

At Babcock, you will help shape the future of naval engineering. As a Configuration Management Engineering Technician at our Lakeside site, you’ll be at the heart of maintaining the integrity of the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary surface ship definitions, ensuring millions of records remain accurate and accessible to support national defence and maritime operations.

Responsibilities

• Screen and extract relevant data from technical documents, drawings, and specifications to maintain ship fit definitions in SSDD.
• Ensure all tasks comply with project procedures and quality plans, identifying improvements where possible.
• Support other Configuration Engineers and collaborate across teams.
• Undertake ship visits to support configuration audits.
• Update SSDD while considering impacts on data interfaces and schedules.

Essential Experience

• Ability to interpret technical data from drawings and documentation.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• IT literacy, ideally with experience using Configuration Management tools (e.g., SSDD).
