Overall Job Purpose

We are looking to recruit someone with significant experience of planning compliance work to lead the Planning Compliance Team. Ideally you would already have experience of leading a team in this sector, but consideration will be given to candidates who have significant experience in the field but no previous leadership roles.

You will lead a team of four investigating planning breaches in the district. As part of the role, you will have your own high‑profile caseload, and we are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate success in taking formal action with experience of appearing in court.

We offer an opportunity to develop your skills, join a supportive and friendly team, and the chance to shape and better the built environment within Arun.

The job is based at the Civic Centre in Littlehampton, and this will be your contractual job location. However, it is likely there will be some working from home and so will need an appropriate space to work from.

We love to invest in our people, providing the opportunity for professional development and fulfilment. Work life balance is encouraged, and we enjoy a variety of flexible working arrangements. Please see Why work for Arun for more information on what Arun offers their employees.

We're an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran, neurodiversity status or disability.
