Paediatric Complex Care Worker

Shift Pattern: Days, Nights, Weekends (flexible)
About the Role
We are looking for dedicated and experienced Paediatric Complex Care Workers to support a child with complex medical needs in their family home. This is a rewarding role where you will provide consistent, high-quality care that enables the child to stay safe, comfortable, and as independent as possible.
You will be supporting a paediatric client who requires:
- CPAP and BiPAP respiratory support
- Oxygen therapy and monitoring
- Oral and nasal suctioning
- PEG or NG feeding
- Seizure management
- Support with mobility, positioning, and daily routines
- Emotional reassurance, play, and developmental support
Full training, competencies, and ongoing clinical supervision will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, child‑centred care according to the individual care plan
- Manage respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen) confidently
- Carry out suctioning procedures safely and sensitively
- Support feeding routines and nutrition requirements
- Engage the child in play, communication, and developmental activities
- Build positive, trusting relationships with the child and family
- Keep accurate, detailed records and communicate any changes promptly
- Maintain excellent safeguarding and clinical governance standards
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience supporting children with complex medical or respiratory needs
- Confidence with CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen therapy, and suctioning
- A nurturing, patient, and child‑focused approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to reassure both child and family
- The ability to remain calm and professional in clinical situations
- A valid Right to Work in the UK
Desirable (not essential)
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or Children’s Care
- Experience working with paediatric clients in community or hospital settings
