Paediatric Complex Care Worker

Location: Milton Keynes
Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Bank
Shift Pattern: Days, Nights, Weekends (flexible)

About the Role

We are looking for dedicated and experienced Paediatric Complex Care Workers to support a child with complex medical needs in their family home. This is a rewarding role where you will provide consistent, high-quality care that enables the child to stay safe, comfortable, and as independent as possible.

You will be supporting a paediatric client who requires:

  • CPAP and BiPAP respiratory support
  • Oxygen therapy and monitoring
  • Oral and nasal suctioning
  • PEG or NG feeding
  • Seizure management
  • Support with mobility, positioning, and daily routines
  • Emotional reassurance, play, and developmental support

Full training, competencies, and ongoing clinical supervision will be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, child‑centred care according to the individual care plan
  • Manage respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen) confidently
  • Carry out suctioning procedures safely and sensitively
  • Support feeding routines and nutrition requirements
  • Engage the child in play, communication, and developmental activities
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with the child and family
  • Keep accurate, detailed records and communicate any changes promptly
  • Maintain excellent safeguarding and clinical governance standards
About You

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience supporting children with complex medical or respiratory needs
  • Confidence with CPAP, BiPAP, oxygen therapy, and suctioning
  • A nurturing, patient, and child‑focused approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to reassure both child and family
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in clinical situations
  • A valid Right to Work in the UK
Desirable (not essential)
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or Children’s Care
  • Experience working with paediatric clients in community or hospital settings
