Job Summary

We are looking for new trustees to join our Board, the group of people who are responsible for the long‑term strategy and oversight of Company Three. We’re looking for people who can challenge our practice, lean into uncertainty and help shape a new way of working together.

Job Description

We need our new trustees to help us think different whilst also ensuring that our work is safe, efficient and sustainable. If you have an interest in how we make systems more representative, democratic and equitable, we want to work with you.

We also need people with certain skills that uphold our responsibilities in some key strategic areas of our work. We're particularly interested in meeting people who bring experience or expertise in one or more of the areas below:

  • Environmental and Sustainability Responsibility
  • Fundraising and Development
  • Safeguarding
  • Communications / Public Relations
  • Human Resources

This is a trustee role so the hours are flexible. Board meetings held every quarter (every three months). Ad hoc meetings as needed.

Job Requirements

You don't have to have been on a board before. We want to meet people of all ages and lived experiences. Your experience in life is as important as your qualifications or work history. If you haven't been a trustee before, we'll give you the support you need to thrive.

You will join us at an exciting time for Company Three. We have a brilliant team and a clear vision. These things, along with our entry into the Arts Council's National Portfolio, give us the opportunity to be innovative and ambitious.

As a trustee you'll need to balance the need to keep the company safe and sustainable with our desire to innovate - especially within governance. We imagine this will be an iterative journey that will involve you, our staff and young people - we want to develop the plan together and recognize we have lots to learn on the way. The term for trustees is an initial term of four years, with the possibility of re‑appointment until eight consecutive years' service has been reached.
