Grade: 7 (£38,220–£41,771) Contract: fixed term until 31 March 2028 | Hybrid Working

Hours: Full Time Type: Contract / Temporary (fixed term until 31 March 2028, with hybrid working)

Role Purpose

The central aim is to develop and increase participation in physical activity and sport in Sheffield. The prime purpose of this role is to lead on and support the development, implementation, delivery and review of high‑quality physical activity, sport and health and wellbeing services to the public of Sheffield. This will require flexible working hours and strong individual skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Raising the profile of physical activity, sport and health and wellbeing opportunities
  • Managing and monitoring contracts and commissioning arrangements with Sheffield City Council in relation to physical activity, sport and health and wellbeing services
  • Managing resources with local and city‑wide remits
  • Managing staff, volunteers and placements
  • Generating income for the service and city through funding and commercial ventures
  • Driving the performance of services delivered and commissioned by Sheffield City Council
  • Developing and delivering partnership initiatives
