Job description
Job Overview

We are looking for someone to join our team who is skilled in connecting with people – as one of our Community Outreach Leads, they will work to involve people and communities in having their say about health and social care services in the city.

Responsibilities

As well designing and running activities that will support people to have their say about services, the role will involve supporting volunteers to take part in this work. The right candidate will need to be confident in facilitating events and group discussions, as well as taking notes and talking to people one to one; they will also feel comfortable in talking to decision makers about the views and experiences of local people.

Commitment to Equity

We have a strong focus on health equity, and would particularly welcome applications from individuals from underrepresented communities, with the skills and experience to work effectively with diverse groups.

Benefits and Working Conditions

We offer a 6% employer pension contribution and the flexibility to pay more or less in employee contributions. You can boost your pension by paying a greater contribution, which you would get tax relief on. Annual leave: 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time posts). We provide an additional day of leave for each year of service for the first five years and allow up to 5 days to be carried over into the next leave year (pro rata for part time posts). Other leave options include the opportunity to buy back an additional week leave, unpaid leave/career breaks and unpaid leave for personal and professional development. Agile working: 35 hour week with flexible agile working. Our city centre base, The Circle, offers modern office space and hot desking. EASE (Employee Assistance Programme) offers 24‑hour confidential support. Cycle To Work Scheme: a salary sacrifice scheme that saves over 25% on bike and cycling kit.
