A community-focused charity seeks a Community Engagement & Development Officer based in Lancaster. This part-time role involves promoting cancer support services, engaging the public and stakeholders, and organizing events to enhance community awareness. Ideal candidates should possess excellent networking, public engagement, and organizational skills to support service delivery and community involvement.
Together with the wider CancerCare team, promote and develop the charity’s services to help improve the quality of life for everyone affected by cancer or bereavement within the local communities.
The job holder will engage with the public, healthcare professionals, third sector organisations, and others to promote the services provided by the charity, supporting people to access different opportunities. They will facilitate groups working with people with lived experience to design and deliver activities within the organisation and community.
The Community Engagement & Development Officer will be responsible for advertising, promoting, and raising awareness of the charity’s services. They will plan and organise external events and activities to raise awareness of CancerCare’s wider work. They will also conduct regular consultations with service users to improve offerings, identify gaps, and develop new groups and services to meet community needs.
