Job summary

A leading dementia charity in Central Aberdeenshire is seeking a part-time temporary support role until March 2027. You will engage individuals in community activities, promote brain health, and lead volunteers. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills and a passion for making a difference in the lives of those affected by dementia. A valid driving licence is necessary, and expenses will be paid for travel.

Contract: 1x temporary, part-time position until 31 March 2027 (21 hours per week)

Location: Central Aberdeenshire – various bases available, most convenient confirmed upon appointment

Who We Are

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, we campaign for the rights of people with dementia and fund vital dementia research.

What You’ll Do
  • Supporting individuals to stay connected to their local communities, engage in their interests and hobbies, and access peer support.
  • Developing ideas and leading the way towards exciting and new activities to promote brain health.
  • Planning and delivering all community-based activities, ensuring reflective practice through activity evaluations and feedback.
What You’ll Have
  • Positive approach to dementia and brain health, passion to make a difference.
  • Good communication and computer skills, caring attitude, enthusiasm for the role.
  • Confidence in planning activities in advance and leading volunteers supporting at your group.
  • Full and valid driving licence and vehicle to travel for this role (mileage and expenses paid).
