About Wonder Studios

Wonder is a next-generation studio blending cinematic craft with AI to pioneer a new model of filmmaking. Backed by Atomico, LocalGlobe, Blackbird, the Sidemen’s Upside Ventures, and leaders from OpenAI, DeepMind, and ElevenLabs, we are building the studio of the future.

To understand your role, you must understand our ecosystem. We operate on a unique three-pillar model: the Agency (delivering commercial content for global brands), the Originals (incubating visionary new directors), and the Wonder App – the engine of our business. The App offers career-defining opportunities to creatives while providing global brands with access to game-changing emerging talent. For more information, visit www.wonderstudios.com

The Role

We are looking for a strategic Communications Lead to drive our external narrative. As we enter our next phase of growth, we are evolving our media strategy to be more culturally resonant and deeply embedded within the creative and technology sectors.

This is a hands‑on role for a senior operator who thrives on autonomy. You will work directly with our Head of Brand and Founders to position Wonder as the definitive leader in AI-native storytelling, moving beyond standard corporate communications to build genuine industry authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Narrative: Own the "Bridge" narrative. You will articulate how Wonder connects high‑end film production with emerging AI technology. Your goal is to build Wonder as the "A24 of the AI revolution," leaning into new media and coverage that matters to position us as the studio uniting traditional craft with new tools.
  • Media Relations: Manage direct relationships with key journalists and editors across our three core verticals: Technology (e.g., Wired, The Verge), Entertainment (e.g., Variety, THR), and Creative (e.g., AdWeek, Puck).
  • Podcast Strategy: Identify and secure appearances for our founders on influential industry podcasts. The focus is on quality and relevance – placing our leadership in conversations that shape the industry.
  • News Cycle Engagement: Monitor the evolving landscape of AI and film. When significant industry news breaks, you will ensure Wonder is leading the conversation with timely, insightful perspectives across our channels and press relationships.
  • Targeted Presence: Curate our presence at high-value industry moments. We prioritise specialised creator gatherings and private industry events over generalist corporate conferences.
  • Commercial Impact: Align communications activity with business objectives, ensuring our narrative supports partnership development and brand trust.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Industry Experience: You possess a deep understanding of the intersection between creative services, film production, and technology. You understand the nuances of communicating with both the "Hollywood" establishment and the tech community.
  • Startup Experience & Autonomy: You have a true growth mindset and experience working in-house at a seed/Series A stage company or as a strategic partner to high‑growth brands. You are comfortable working with autonomy and delivering results without heavy infrastructure.
  • Exceptional Communicator: You are a strong writer and strategist. You have the ability to distil complex technical workflows into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences, from film directors to investors.
  • Established Network: You hold active, strong connections within the technology and entertainment media landscapes in London and the US.
  • High Agency: You take ownership of the function. You are strategic enough to build the plan, but you are also the one executing the outreach and managing the follow‑through. You define the path and deliver the outcome.
Success in 12 Months
  • Category Definition: Successfully position Wonder in the press as the definitive bridge between AI and Hollywood.
  • Thought Leadership: Establish a regular cadence of founder appearances on top‑tier industry podcasts and thought‑leadership platforms.
  • Media Consistency: Secure consistent, high‑quality coverage across our core verticals (Tech, Entertainment, Advertising/Creative).
  • Narrative Authority: Shift the external perception of Wonder from a participant in the AI debate to a leading authority shaping the future of the medium.
Why Join Wonder
  • Shape the Narrative: Define the story of how AI intersects with human creativity, working at the forefront of the most discussed topic in the creative industries.
  • Collaborate with Leaders: Gain exposure by engaging with leaders across top creative, tech, and AI organisations.
  • World‑Class Backing: Work within a team supported by leading global investors (Atomico, LocalGlobe) andಲ್ಲ strategic partners (Universal Music Group, Google).
