Do you want to play a key role in shaping high-quality, person-centred support for people with Learning Disabilities across North Tyneside?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Commissioning Manager to join our Adults and Public Health Commissioning Team.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a progressive commissioning service focused on improving outcomes, strengthening provider markets and ensuring value for money across the care and support system.

About the role

The Commissioning Manager will lead and support a range of commissioning priorities relating to Learning Disabilities, including:

  • Supporting the commissioning cycle across Learning Disability Services, from needs assessment and service design through to procurement, mobilisation and review
  • Working closely with providers delivering supported living, residential care, outreach, day opportunities and other specialist services
  • Contributing to market shaping activity to support a sustainable, diverse and high-quality provider market
  • Using data, intelligence and lived experience to inform decision‑making and drive continuous improvement
  • Supporting Quality Monitoring activity through analysis of performance, risks and provider feedback
  • Working collaboratively with partners across Adult Social Care, Health, providers, carers, individuals and advocacy organisations
  • Supporting transformation and improvement programmes focused on independence, inclusion and personalisation
About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in commissioning, contract management or service development, ideally within adult social care or Learning Disabilities
  • Can build strong and effective relationships with providers and partners
  • Understands the commissioning cycle and how to apply it in practice
  • Is confident using data and evidence to inform decisions
  • Has strong communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills
  • Is committed to improving outcomes and promoting independence for people with Learning Disabilities
