Commercial Print Engineer

Canon EMEA is looking for a Commercial Print Engineer to be based in Dundee/Fife. This position offers a competitive salary of £33,089 + Shift and full‑time, shift‑rotation work.

Responsibilities
  • Provide first‑line troubleshooting and root cause analysis on commercial ink‑jet printing devices and related finishing equipment.
  • Achieve a high first‑time fix rate and minimise recalls using cost‑effective labour and parts.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal Canon departments.
  • Contribute to ongoing service performance improvement and coach junior service engineers.
  • Ensure all post‑sale field‑service requirements are met and record activities in line with company guidelines.
  • Optimise customer stock inventory and rotation, balancing against return‑to‑fit visits.
  • Provide product instruction and training to customers.
  • Advising customers when chargeable work is required and obtaining required authorisation.
  • Identify and signal commercial opportunities to Sales and Marketing.
  • Comply fully with health and safety guidelines and product safety checks.
  • Maintain customer service excellence, remaining calm under pressure and prioritising tasks effectively.
  • Operate safely and efficiently in a high‑speed, team‑oriented environment.
Qualifications
  • NQ or equivalent in an electrical and/or mechanical discipline.
  • Competent Service Engineer experience in a production/commercial setting.
  • Strong fault‑finding, resolution, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and time‑management abilities.
