About the Role

We’re excited to be hiring a Commercial Assistant – a role created for someone required to complete a placement year in industry, that is curious about eCommerce and keen to build a career in Commercial to start in Summer 2026.

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity, offering hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, high‑growth business. You’ll mainly support the Buying team, whilst also supporting on projects within Trading, and Cards to see how great products, partnerships, and campaigns come to life.

You don’t need previous experience - this role is all about potential, curiosity, and willingness to learn. If you’re proactive, organised, and excited by the idea of getting stuck in, this could be the perfect first step in your Commercial career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the go-to person for day‑to‑day tasks and queries related to the Partnership Investment project
  • Work with Buyers to review monthly plans, update content calendars, and understand monthly and annual funding priorities
  • Support Buyers in securing supplier‑funded promotions and maximising revenue opportunities
  • Collaborate with Content, CRM, and Marketing teams to deliver brand activity and promotional campaigns
  • Carry out regular site walks to capture and review brand activity, ensuring strong execution
  • Manage rebate processes alongside Finance and ensure compliance
  • Share performance feedback, sales data, and campaign insights with suppliers
About You
  • This role is specific to candidates in their 2nd year at university looking for an industrial placement opportunity as part of their degree
  • Ideally studying a degree related to business studies, but we would welcome applications from any subject area if you have a strong interest in ecommerce
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • A confident communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
  • Comfortable working with data and drawing insights from it
  • Curious, proactive, and keen to learn across a variety of projects
