An innovative energy supplier in Bicester is seeking a Collections Specialist to resolve customer debts while achieving positive outcomes. The role requires effective communication, resilience in challenging situations, and experience in collections. As a Collections Specialist, you’ll communicate with customers across multiple channels to resolve outstanding debts through skilful negotiation, achieving positive outcomes for both the customer and the business. Thriving in a fast‑paced call centre environment, you will take ownership of accounts, address issues promptly, and work with other teams to remove any blockers to resolution, all while meeting key performance indicators and supporting continuous improvement.

The day‑to‑day responsibilities will involve, but not be limited to, the following:
Take ownership of resolving customer queries and delivering positive outcomes for both the customer and the business
Communicate across multiple channels and personalise interactions to understand individual customer situations, collaborating to develop workable solutions
Handle challenging calls with resilience, emotional intelligence, and strong negotiation skills
Research customer accounts, investigate queries, and remove blockers to resolve debts accurately and efficiently
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions for smooth account management
Work closely with management to maintain best practices, build strong customer relationships, and stay up to date with company policies
Manage accounts on your dedicated ledger effectively and implement customer‑focused solutions that support both the customer and the business
Ideally a minimum of 1 year’s experience in a collections or debt recovery position, ideally within the energy industry
A results‑driven mindset, consistently meeting targets and achieving measurable outcomes that support business objectives
The ability to communicate clearly and professionally across multiple channels, explaining account information, negotiating repayment plans, and resolving queries, while maintaining strong attention to detail
Resilience and professionalism, staying calm and focused when handling challenging conversations or difficult situations, and applying effective problem‑solving to deliver timely solutions
Empathy and customeristischen focus, building positive relationships by understanding individual circumstances and achieving mutually beneficial outcomes through negotiation and conflict resolution
Annual salary up to £27k, with uncapped earnings and estimated OTE of £45k
