CNC Operator Milling - Day Shifts

We are recruiting for a CNC operator for a leading engineering company based in Central Birmingham. We are looking for an experienced CNC operator who is available immediately, looking for a career on day shifts and the opportunity to work with an innovative team that offers engineering solutions across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, load, and monitor CNC milling machines and equipment.
  • Deburr and quality inspect parts.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure components meet specifications.
  • Use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and verniers to check and maintain quality standards.
  • Work with a range of materials.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and safety at all times.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve technical or machining issues.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Work to agreed lead times.
Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a CNC operator.
  • Experience working with milling machines in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from technical/engineering drawings.
  • Hands‑on experience operating CNC milling machines.
  • Skilled in the use of measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, verniers, etc.).
  • Experience working with a variety of materials.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.
What We Offer
  • Temporary to permanent position working 39 hours a week.
  • Day shift hours 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday–Thursday; 8:00 am – 3:30 pm Friday.
  • Pay rate £13.00 per hour.
