In support of our continued UK growth, we are currently seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team. Role and Responsibilities

Your role as a Cloud Engineer

  • Design, implement, and maintain a scalable and secure managed services cloud infrastructure to deliver mission-critical services to customers.
  • Act as a key member of the operations team responsible for uptime and optimisation of the managed services cloud platform and tooling.
  • Enhance the platform to scale effectively as the customer base grows and new services are launched.
  • Maintain compliance with industry best practices and security baselines; collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer solutions.
  • Contribute to cloud-native services, automation, and resolving complex technical challenges.
Qualifications and Requirements

We hire result-orientated, smart, and high-energy individuals with a can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile. While we prioritise attitude and approach over specific vendor or tooling experience, this role requires proven expertise in the following areas:

  • Cloud expertise
    • Experience designing and implementing best practice architectures utilising Microsoft Azure
    • Experience building and troubleshooting containerised services with Docker and Kubernetes
    • Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices
  • Automation first approach
    • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)
    • Ability to manage environments using infrastructure configuration tools (Ansible, Terraform)
  • Operations and tooling
    • Experience working with Linux
    • Experience working with tooling such as Salesforce, Netbox, Zabbix and Grafana
    • Experience building, monitoring, and dashboarding across the entire IT stack
    • Previous role at a managed services provider or has experience in a technical support role
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
    • Strong technical documentation skills
  • Additional Desirable Skills
    • Knowledge and understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP, IP protocols and OSI model, VPN, IPsec, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, MPLS, BGP
    • Familiar with a test-driven development approach
    • Experience working in Scrum teams with strong self-motivation to drive strategic thinking and planning to achieve service excellence
    • Strong communication and effective time management
    • Problem-solving mindset to drive innovation and streamline service tooling with automation
Job Specifics
  • Location: This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance at our Basingstoke office (free hot & cold drinks, breakfast items, snacks, lunches, and regular takeaway Fridays are provided to all staff in the office!)
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm, with occasional evening or weekend work if required
  • Travel: The role includes travel within the UK, with some overnight stays, and occasional international trips if required
  • Requirement: You will be required to attend customer sites across the UK and must therefore hold a full UK driving licence
