Clinical Negligence Solicitor – Leeds

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Negligence Solicitor (NQ to Grade C level or equivalent) to join a well-established, forward-thinking legal practice in Leeds. This role offers hybrid working with a flexible balance between remote working and time spent in modern office spaces.

The Role:

You will join a highly respected Clinical Negligence department, known for delivering outstanding results across a varied and complex caseload. The team includes nationally accredited specialists and the work spans all stages of litigation – both pre- and post-issue.

As a Grade C Solicitor, you will provide essential support to Senior Lawyers while managing your own caseload under supervision. You will be involved in the full litigation process, including drafting legal documentation, advising clients, negotiating settlements and handling procedural aspects of litigation.

The position also includes mentoring more junior colleagues and playing an active role in the development of the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Solicitor to further their career within a dynamic and collaborative legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a clinical negligence caseload from instruction to resolution, with supervision
  • Support senior lawyers on complex cases
  • Draft legal documents including letters of claim and letters of instruction
  • Engage in litigation activity where necessary, including issuing and serving proceedings
  • Liaise with clients, experts and counsel as required
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior team members
  • Ensure accurate and timely time recording
  • Work to team and departmental performance targets
  • Contribute to proactive and commercially focused case progression
About You
  • Qualified Solicitor (NQ-5 years PQE) or equivalent experience in clinical negligence
  • Proven experience managing clinical negligence or complex personal injury files
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Commercially aware with a client-centred approach
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Competent with case management systems and Microsoft Office
