The post commencement date will be February 2026 for a duration of 6‑12 months.

Responsibilities
  • Provide subspecialty training, predominantly in Paediatric Orthopaedics (elective and trauma) and, where appropriate, in Spinal Deformity and Orthopaedic Oncology.
  • Spend most time at Birmingham Children’s Hospital while attending out‑reach clinics with Paediatric Orthopaedic Consultants at surrounding hospitals.

  • Attend monthly Audit/MDT meetings and, alongside the three Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellows, collate and present all M+M data; also attend Trust audit mornings.
  • May attend additional clinic and theatre sessions during the week to gain exposure to interesting cases.
  • Cross‑cover specified clinics and lists to maintain an EWTR/New Deal compliant rota; details will be provided when the 6‑monthly rota is finalised.
Qualifications
  • Senior trainee with FRCS (Orth) or equivalent, or CESR trainee seeking Paediatric Orthopaedic exposure to fulfil specialist register requirements.
