Job Overview

Job Title: Clinical Complex Carer Paediatric Client

Location: Reading

Hours: Mon-Fri 8.30am-2.30pm

Pay Rate: £20 per hour weekdays and £33 per hour weekends; if weekend work arises, this position is self employed.

County Carers is a trusted provider of complex care, supporting clients and their families with tailored, compassionate, and professional home-based care. We are currently looking for an experienced Complex Carer (or 2to) to join our team and support a young child with significant healthcare needs. You will be fully supported by our expert management and clinical team, and we are seeking someone with a strong background in complex paediatric care who can confidently hit the ground running.

Role Requirements

We are specifically seeking a carer who has experience working with children with complex needs and is fully trained and competent in the following areas:

• Paediatric complex care experience (essential)
• Suctioning
• Epilepsy management
• VP (Ventriculoperitoneal) shunt care
• PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) feeding
• Breath-holding episodes

Essential Criteria

• Must be fluent in English (this is a specific request from the client’s family)
• Proven experience in a complex care role, with children
• Up-to-date mandatory training and clinical competencies (or willingness to update through us)
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to build trust with both the child and their family
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo one)

Important Note

We have had applicants without sufficient complex care experience. We are shortlisting only highly experienced candidates at this stage. If you are available only a few days a week, this is okay as we typically look for a few carers to share the shifts throughout the week.
