Victoria Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation dedicated to providing culturally safe legal and support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Victoria. Established in 1973, VALS is the state’s only specialist legal service for Aboriginal communities, offering advocacy and support in criminal, family, civil, and human rights law.

As a Client Service Officer (CSO) in our Aboriginal Families Practice, you’ll be the vital cultural link between Aboriginal community members, VALS lawyers, and the court system. You’ll help clients navigate child protection, family violence, and family law processes in a culturally safe and supportive way. This role is perfect for someone passionate about community engagement and advocacy, with a strong connection to Aboriginal culture and a desire to make a real impact.
